Internet is slow?

In some areas of the apartment, the Internet connection may be slow or unstable. To improve the signal, it is possible to use a Powerline adapter (PLC – Power Line Communication), which transmits the Internet signal through the apartment’s electrical wiring. A PLC helps extend Wi-Fi coverage to rooms farther from the router and improves connection quality for your computers, gaming consoles, and other connected devices.

In Citydays apartments, a Wi-Fi repeater is installed only in very large units, in order to avoid unnecessarily increasing electromagnetic emissions. However, we can also install one in smaller apartments upon tenant request, if the connection speed proves insufficient in everyday use.

Steps to follow if internet is slow

Check the internet router

  • Make sure the router is properly plugged in and powered.
  • Check that the router lights are not red.
  • Restart the router if needed and wait a few minutes for the connection to stabilise.

Test internet speed

  • Go to speedtest.net and run a speed test in the room where the connection is slow.
  • If you can, also run a test near the router to compare results.
  • Send a screenshot to our technical team for analysis.

Using a powerline adapter (if the apartment does not have one)

  • Citydays can provide a powerline adapter to improve coverage in distant rooms.
  • The powerline adapter plugs into a wall socket and connects to your router by Ethernet cable. A second adapter plugs in where the connection is weak.
  • Once installed, the powerline adapter creates a stable network for your devices.

If the problem persists

Even after these steps:

  • Check if an error code appears on the router or powerline adapter, and take a photo.
  • If possible, please record the situation to show us the issue and send us a screenshot of the Speedtest speed test.

Then contact our team via the Citydays support form. We can arrange for a powerline adapter or report the fault to our internet provider to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
