The Wi-Fi repeater (or powerline adapter) improves Wi-Fi quality in rooms far from the internet router by using the accommodation’s electrical wiring. The network name (SSID) and Wi-Fi repeater password are in your apartment information sent by email on arrival. During your stay, we recommend not unplugging, moving or resetting the Wi-Fi repeater units without contacting Citydays support first.
Problem 1: I am connected to the Wi-Fi repeater but have no internet
Check if the problem affects only your room or the whole apartment
- Ask your flatmates if they also have connection issues.
- If nobody has internet, the problem is probably with the main router. In that case, please see the guide on internet router problems.
Check the main Wi-Fi repeater unit
- The Wi-Fi repeater unit connected to the router must be plugged directly into a wall socket.
- It must not be plugged into an extension lead, cable or UPS, as the signal travels through the wall’s electrical wiring.
### Problem 2: Cannot connect with the password
- Check that the password you are using matches the one in your apartment information.
- Some accommodations have several Wi-Fi repeater units. Make sure you are connecting to the network for your room.
##### Automatic update:
- The Wi-Fi repeater sometimes performs an automatic update.
- During this time (which can last several hours), connection may be impossible and a message like "incorrect password" may appear.
- In most cases, the connection returns automatically once the update is complete.
If the problem continues after several hours, contact our support.
### Problem 3: The Wi-Fi repeater was reset and the password changed
In this case, please contact our technical team directly. Reconfiguration will be required and cannot be done by tenants.
